Cellophane & Overwrapping Machine Operator (Perfume Industry)

About the role

The company seeks a skilled operator to run cellophane and overwrapping machines for perfume and cosmetics packaging. The role ensures high‑quality wrapping, accurate product coding, and smooth production flow while adhering to safety and hygiene standards.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor cellophane and overwrapping machines according to the production plan.
• Perform product changeovers, adjusting for different bottle sizes, cartons, films, and variants.
• Load and manage packaging materials such as cellophane film, BOPP film, tear tape, cartons, labels, and adhesives.
• Verify correct product, batch number, MRP, manufacturing and expiry dates on each package.
• Conduct in‑process quality checks for wrapping integrity, seal quality, film alignment, and coding accuracy.
• Maintain production, rejection, downtime, and quality‑check records.
• Troubleshoot minor issues like film jams, uneven wrapping, sealing problems, and sensor faults.
• Coordinate with Maintenance for major faults and with Quality for inspections and approvals.
• Ensure line clearance before new batches and keep the work area clean and organized.

Required profile

• 2–5 years of experience operating cellophane, overwrapping, or similar secondary packaging machines.
• Experience in perfume, cosmetics, FMCG, pharmaceutical, or personal‑care industries preferred.
• Technical qualification such as ITI/Diploma or equivalent experience.
• Ability to work in shifts and follow SOPs, GMP, 5S, and safety procedures.
