Category Buyer – Site and Business Services

About the role

The Category Buyer will support procurement activities for BASF Global Digital and Global Business Service Centres in Hyderabad. You will manage sourcing, contracting and supplier performance for a wide range of site and business services across multiple BASF locations.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor supplier performance and maintain strong relationships, driving corrective actions when needed.
• Identify and qualify new local suppliers, leading audits in collaboration with technical teams.
• Manage end‑to‑end Source‑to‑Contract (S2C) processes using SAP Ariba and Mercanis.
• Oversee the Procure‑to‑Pay (P2P) cycle, including purchase orders in SAP and vendor payments.
• Develop and execute negotiation strategies for high‑value contracts to achieve EBIT savings.
• Lead category management initiatives for Facility Management, Fleet, HR, Marketing, Communications and Legal services.
• Ensure compliance with human‑rights regulations and internal governance standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience in procurement, supplier management and contract administration.
• Familiarity with large, complex office or site environments.
• Ability to develop and implement regional category strategies.
• Strong analytical skills to monitor market dynamics and cost efficiencies.
