Category Buyer – Air & Sea Transportation

About the role

The Category Buyer SC – Air & Sea Transportation is responsible for implementing sourcing strategies for air and sea transport services within Sanofi’s Manufacturing & Supply domain. The role partners with internal business teams, builds project scopes, conducts global RFPs, negotiates contracts and manages key supplier relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and follow‑up action plans derived from category management and procurement strategies.
• Deliver savings pipelines in line with targets.
• Lead global RFIs/RFPs and negotiate contracts for the air and sea transportation category.
• Report on status, savings, performance and risks of sourcing activities.
• Conduct robust supplier management, including business reviews and performance monitoring.
• Ensure mastery of procurement technical excellence such as TCO, SRM, market intelligence, risk management, innovation, CSR, HSE, compliance and quality.
• Develop strong partnerships with internal customers and present procurement strategies for review.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in procurement or a related field.
• Experience in logistics/operations, preferably transportation.
• Results‑oriented with strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Good understanding of finance and legal aspects.
• Flexible, resourceful and creative, with strong project‑management and negotiation skills.
• Assertive, able to influence and present ideas effectively.
• Quick learner who adapts to new environments and processes.
• Team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
