Cashier (Multiple Locations)

About the role

The Cashier is responsible for executing all cash‑related transactions and operations at a branch, ensuring compliance with internal and external banking guidelines. The role includes handling cheques, drafts, cash deposits and withdrawals, maintaining registers, and performing end‑of‑day reconciliations.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process cheques, drafts, dividend warrants, pay orders and other instruments within authorized limits.
• Disburse cash for withdrawal requests and collect cash for deposit challans.
• Maintain inward and outward cash registers, petty‑cash register, and assets register; submit requisition forms to the Regional Head Office.
• Perform daily cash tallying, reconcile transactions, and prepare the End‑of‑Day branch report.
• Jointly manage the branch vault and cash custody with the Assistant Branch Manager.
• Provide courteous customer service, address queries, and promote bank products and alternate channels.
• Ensure adherence to transaction turnaround times and compliance with all banking regulations and policies.
• Validate customer authenticity during cash withdrawals and verify cash deposit slips for audit purposes.

Required profile

• Full‑time position.
• Reports to the Branch Operation Officer.
• Based at a branch location (multiple locations possible).
