Cashier (Multiple Locations)

About the role

The Cashier will manage all cash‑related transactions and operations across multiple branch locations, ensuring compliance with internal and external banking guidelines. This full‑time position is responsible for accurate cash handling, customer service, and end‑of‑day reconciliation.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process cheques, drafts, dividend warrants, pay orders and other instruments within authorized limits.
• Disburse cash for withdrawal requests and collect cash for deposit challans.
• Collect loan repayments according to EMI schedules and maintain appropriate system entries.
• Maintain inward/outward registers, petty cash, and assets registers; submit requisitions to the Regional Head Office.
• Perform daily cash tallying, prepare end‑of‑day reports, and manage vault operations jointly with the Operations Officer.
• Interact with customers during deposits and withdrawals, provide product information, and identify cross‑selling opportunities.
• Educate customers on alternate channels for transactions and explain repayment dates and contact details.
• Ensure compliance with turnaround times, banking regulations, and internal policies for all cashier activities.
• Validate customer authenticity during cash withdrawals and verify accuracy of deposit slips.
• Update passbooks, process cash bundles for currency chest deposits, and support loan repayment accounting.

Required profile

• Experience in cash handling and branch banking operations.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to reconcile cash balances accurately.
• Excellent customer service orientation and communication skills.
• Knowledge of banking regulations and internal compliance procedures.
• Ability to work collaboratively with branch staff and maintain vault security.
