Cashier – Multiple Locations

About the role

The Cashier is responsible for executing all cash‑related transactions and operations at branch locations, ensuring compliance with internal and external banking guidelines. This full‑time position supports the efficient functioning of the branch by handling cash, maintaining registers, and delivering superior customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process cheques, drafts, dividend warrants, pay orders and other instruments within authorized limits.
• Disburse cash for withdrawal requests and collect cash against deposit challans.
• Maintain inward and outward cash registers, petty‑cash and assets registers, and submit requisition forms to the Regional Head Office.
• Perform daily cash tallying, reconcile transactions in the system, and prepare the End‑of‑Day branch report.
• Jointly manage the branch vault and safeguard cash, keys and other valuables with the Assistant Branch Manager.
• Interact with customers during deposits and withdrawals, explain repayment schedules, and promote cross‑selling opportunities.
• Ensure adherence to turnaround times, regulatory requirements and bank policies for all cashier operations.

Required profile

• Experience in cash handling and banking operations.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures.
• Excellent customer service orientation and communication skills.
• Capability to work collaboratively with branch staff and maintain accurate records.
