Cashier – Multiple Locations

About the role

The Cashier is responsible for executing all cash‑related transactions and operations at branch locations, ensuring compliance with internal and external banking guidelines. This full‑time position supports the smooth functioning of the branch by handling cash, cheques, drafts, and other instruments while delivering excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process cheques, drafts, dividend warrants, pay orders and other instruments within authorized limits.
• Disburse cash for withdrawal requests and collect cash for deposit challans.
• Collect loan repayments according to EMI schedules and maintain accurate system entries.
• Maintain inward/outward registers, petty‑cash register, assets register and prepare requisition forms for the Regional Head Office.
• Perform daily cash tally, prepare end‑of‑day reports and ensure vault operations are conducted jointly with the Operations Officer.
• Interact with customers, identify cross‑selling opportunities and educate them on new products and alternate channels.
• Ensure compliance with all banking regulations, internal policies and defined turnaround times for transactions.
• Validate customer authenticity during cash withdrawals and verify deposit slip accuracy for audit purposes.

• Strong customer‑service orientation with the ability to handle inquiries courteously.
• High attention to detail for cash reconciliation and register maintenance.
• Ability to follow banking guidelines and regulatory requirements.
• Good communication skills for interacting with customers and escalating issues when needed.
