About the role

As a Cashier at Meijer you will be the front‑line ambassador, delivering fast and friendly service to shoppers in the checkout lane. You will use modern point‑of‑sale technology to ensure accurate transactions and create a positive experience that encourages repeat visits.

Key responsibilities

• Operate the POS system and cash register to process purchases, returns and payments.
• Provide courteous, attentive service and address customer questions promptly.
• Maintain accuracy of cash handling and reconcile registers at shift end.
• Utilize store technology to scan items, apply promotions and manage loyalty programs.
• Engage customers with a friendly attitude to create “WOW” moments.

Required profile

• Minimum age of 18 years.
• Strong listening and communication skills, both face‑to‑face and virtual.
• Willingness to learn and use job‑specific technology.
• Problem‑solving mindset and attention to detail.
• Friendly, outgoing attitude and desire to work with customers.

Required skills

• Proficiency with a point‑of‑sale (POS) system.
• Ability to operate a cash register and handle various forms of payment.
