Cashier – Full-time Branch Banking

About the role

The Cashier is responsible for executing all cash‑related transactions and operations at a branch, ensuring compliance with internal and external banking guidelines. This full‑time position supports the smooth functioning of the branch’s cash handling function and provides courteous service to customers.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process cheques, drafts, dividend warrants, pay orders and other instruments, issuing acknowledgements as required.
• Disburse cash for withdrawal requests and collect cash for deposit challans, maintaining accurate system entries.
• Collect loan repayments according to EMI schedules and update relevant registers.
• Maintain inward/outward registers, petty‑cash register, assets register and submit requisition forms to the Regional Head Office.
• Perform daily cash tally, end‑of‑day reconciliation and report in the Branch’s End‑of‑Day report.
• Jointly manage the branch vault and cash custody with the Operations Officer and Assistant Branch Manager.
• Interact with customers, explain repayment dates, promote new products and encourage use of alternate channels.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, bank policies and defined turnaround times for transactions.

Required profile

• Experience in cash handling and banking operations.
• Ability to follow internal and external banking guidelines accurately.
• Strong attention to detail for daily reconciliation and record‑keeping.
• Good communication skills to assist customers and address queries.
• Capability to work collaboratively with branch staff and maintain vault security.
