Cashier – Branch Banking (Multiple Locations)

About the role

We are looking for a diligent Cashier to manage all cash‑related transactions at our branch network. The role involves handling deposits, withdrawals, cheque processing and ensuring accurate end‑of‑day reconciliation in line with banking guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process cheques, drafts, dividend warrants, pay orders and other instruments within authorized limits.
• Disburse cash for withdrawal requests and collect cash for deposit challans.
• Collect loan repayments as per EMI schedules and maintain corresponding system entries.
• Maintain inward/outward registers, petty‑cash and asset registers; submit requisitions to the Regional Head Office.
• Perform daily cash tallying, prepare end‑of‑day reports and ensure vault operations with the Operations Officer.
• Provide courteous customer service, address queries, explain repayment dates and promote cross‑selling opportunities.
• Educate customers on alternate channels for transactions and handle escalations as needed.
• Count and verify cash at the start and end of each day, safeguard cash, keys and valuables in joint custody.
• Ensure compliance with all banking regulations, internal policies and defined turnaround times for transactions.

Required profile

• Prior experience handling cash in a banking or financial services environment.
• Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
• Good communication skills and ability to interact professionally with customers.
• Understanding of banking regulations and cash‑handling procedures.
