Cashier – Branch Banking (Multiple Locations)

About the role

The Cashier is responsible for executing all cash‑related transactions and operations at multiple branch locations, ensuring compliance with internal and external banking guidelines. This full‑time position supports the Branch Operation Officer in maintaining accurate cash registers, performing end‑of‑day reconciliations, and delivering superior customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process cheques, drafts, dividend warrants, pay orders, and other instruments within authorized limits.
• Disburse cash for withdrawal requests and collect cash for deposit challans.
• Maintain inward/outward registers, petty‑cash registers, and assets registers; submit requisitions to the Regional Head Office.
• Perform daily cash tallying, prepare end‑of‑day reports, and manage the branch vault jointly with the operations officer.
• Interact with customers during deposits and withdrawals, identify cross‑selling opportunities, and educate them on alternate channels.
• Ensure compliance with turnaround times, regulatory requirements, and bank policies for all cashier operations.
• Validate customer authenticity for cash withdrawals and verify cash deposit slips for audit purposes.
