Cashier – Branch Banking (Multiple Locations)

About the role

The Cashier is responsible for executing all cash‑related transactions and operations at branch locations, ensuring compliance with internal and external banking guidelines. This full‑time position supports the efficient functioning of the branch by handling cash, cheques, drafts, and other instruments while delivering excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Process cash‑related transactions, including receipt and disbursement of cheques, drafts, dividend warrants, pay orders, and cash withdrawals within authorized limits.
• Maintain accurate entries in the system, registers, and petty‑cash logs; perform daily cash tally and end‑of‑day reconciliation.
• Manage the branch vault and cash custody jointly with the Operations Officer and Assistant Branch Manager.
• Collect loan repayments as per EMI schedules and update loan accounts.
• Interact with customers during deposits and withdrawals, promote cross‑selling opportunities, and educate them on alternate banking channels.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, bank policies, and defined turnaround times for transactions.
• Validate customer authenticity for cash withdrawals and verify cash deposit slips for audit purposes.
