Care Buddy – Senior Support Companion

About the role

Prayojana is looking for compassionate Care Buddies to be the primary point of contact for senior members. You will provide day‑to‑day assistance, emotional support, and help them navigate everyday tasks with the warmth of a family member.

Key responsibilities

• Check on members’ well‑being daily and visit at least once a week.
• Assist with errands such as banking, grocery or vegetable procurement.
• Schedule and accompany members to doctor appointments and lab visits.
• Resolve technology issues – set up WhatsApp, troubleshoot internet, guide use of Facebook and Instagram.
• Educate members on emergency procedures and coordinate care during emergencies.
• Update medical records in the Prayojana Health App and monitor medication inventory.
• Provide companionship – accompany walks, social events, concerts, and arrange transportation.
• Manage tickets for cultural events and support members in attending family functions.

Required profile

• High integrity, trustworthiness and willingness to be on‑call 24/7.
• Empathetic, patient, polite, punctual and committed to seniors’ comfort.
• Independent, able to handle up to 10 members simultaneously.
• Basic computer and internet proficiency.
• Own two‑wheeler (bike/scooter) for local travel.
• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work is a plus.
