CAD Engineer / Senior CAD Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a skilled CAD Engineer (or Senior CAD Engineer) to develop 2D and 3D models for automotive exterior lighting components. You will work closely with design leaders, engineers and the PDM/PLM teams to ensure high‑quality CAD data throughout the product lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Define and build 3D models that respect mould, plastic and mechanical constraints.
• Create 2D drawings that follow drawing standards, layout rules and functional tolerances.
• Own the CAD definition of assigned components, applying Branch CAD methodology and quality check‑lists.
• Develop small technical definitions (clips, locating features, ribs, harnesses) and support local area design.
• Validate and follow‑up all CAD data in the VLS Branch PDM/PLM systems.
• Monitor lead‑time and cost of CAD tasks, ensuring milestones are met.
• When required, pilot CAD operators and manage CAD work orders.

Required profile

• Proficiency with CAD software, especially CATIA V5 and Computer Aided Styling (CAS).
• Experience in automotive exterior lighting or similar product design.
• Good understanding of plastics moulding and tooling constraints.
• Ability to follow and promote quality procedures within a PLM environment.
• Strong organizational skills to manage task timing and cost.
