Buyer – Head Office

About the role

The Buyer – Head Office will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing a range of spend categories for Adani Group’s Ports & SEZ business. You will develop and maintain vendor relationships, negotiate optimal pricing, and ensure that all purchases meet quality, timeline and budget requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Review approved Purchase Requisitions (PR) and determine appropriate procurement method.
• Lead strategic sourcing activities, including RFI creation, vendor selection, evaluation, and fact‑based negotiations or e‑auctions.
• Prepare and obtain approvals for selected bidders through the Note for Approval (NFA) process.
• Maintain approved contract records in the ERP system, draft rate contracts and master outline agreements.
• Generate Purchase Orders (PO) or Sales Orders (SO) under valid contracts and expedite material deliveries.
• Manage post‑order activities such as change orders, amendments, and inbound logistics for Ex‑Works supplies.
• Develop vendor evaluation criteria and conduct ongoing supplier performance assessments.

Required profile

• Proven experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, and contract management.
• Familiarity with reviewing purchase requisitions and determining procurement methods.
• Ability to draft and manage contracts, rate agreements, and outline agreements within an ERP environment.
• Strong organizational skills to coordinate order expediting, change orders, and logistics support.
