Buyer (B2) – Procurement Role in Bangalore

About the role

As a Buyer at Applied Materials, you will be responsible for purchasing the materials, supplies, machinery, and services that keep our cutting‑edge manufacturing facilities running. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams, using strong organization and strategic planning to monitor inventory, schedule deliveries, negotiate with suppliers, and secure the items that enable our customers to innovate.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure continuous supply to support fast, high‑quality manufacturing.
• Follow up on orders, verify deliveries, approve payments, and keep accurate records.
• Drive timely shipment of parts from suppliers to Applied factories and resolve any shipping, receiving, or billing issues.
• Partner with suppliers on demand‑supply collaboration, managing pull‑ins and push‑outs to meet MRP demand.
• Support inventory and excess‑and‑obsolescence reduction initiatives.
• Negotiate purchases and RFQs to achieve the lowest cost while maintaining quality and reliability.
• Resolve supply problems with engineering, manufacturing, and program managers, with manager support.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 1–2 years of related procurement or supply‑chain experience.
• Understanding of key industry business drivers.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to convey complex information.
