Business Development Executive Cargo

About the role

This full‑time, on‑site position in Delhi focuses on driving new business for cargo and freight forwarding services. The Business Development Executive will identify opportunities, nurture client relationships and expand the customer base across key industry segments.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities for air, ocean and road cargo services.
• Research target markets, generate leads and conduct client meetings and presentations.
• Prepare proposals, quotations and customized logistics solutions in coordination with operations and pricing teams.
• Negotiate commercial terms and ensure timely follow‑up to close deals.
• Maintain accurate records of sales activities in CRM or similar tools.
• Track sales performance, provide market insights and competitor analysis to management.
• Support existing clients to deepen relationships and drive repeat business.

Required profile

• Strong business development and sales skills, including lead generation and negotiation.
• Good knowledge of cargo and freight forwarding operations (air, ocean, customs, warehousing).
• Ability to analyse customer needs and design tailored logistics solutions.
• Effective communication and presentation abilities, with experience preparing proposals and reports.
• Comfort working in a fast‑paced, target‑driven environment with strong organisational skills.
• Proficiency with standard office applications and CRM tools for tracking leads.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain or related field; logistics or cargo sales experience preferred.
• Familiarity with sectors such as pharmaceuticals, perishables, hazardous cargo, auto parts, RMG and general cargo is an advantage.
