Business Controller

About the role

KONE India is entering a strong growth phase and is looking for a Business Controller to join its Business Controlling & Analytics team. The role supports business performance by providing financial insights, ensuring accurate reporting and forecasting, and aligning KPIs with strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and analyse monthly and year‑to‑date orders, sales and margins.
• Facilitate planning, forecasting and budgeting processes with business leaders.
• Calculate and update labour and burden rates for tendering and order booking.
• Monitor order and revenue recognition compliance through sample checks.
• Develop KPIs to improve order‑booking quality and track cost overruns.
• Support CORE simplification projects and monitor slow‑moving or non‑moving projects.
• Coordinate market trend analysis, project cancellations and profitability assessments.
• Partner with business teams on major project tendering, cash‑flow forecasts, risk analysis and scenario planning.

Required profile

• 10‑15 years of industrial experience, preferably in cost planning, profitability analysis and financial modelling.
• Professional qualification such as CA, ICWA or CIMA.
• Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to build trust across stakeholders.
• Experience working in a multicultural environment and willingness to travel within and outside India.
• Good organisational, process‑planning and change‑management capabilities.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
• SAP ERP (or similar) and Business Intelligence tools.
