Business Controller

About the role

Newil & Bau is a fast‑growing residential development company based in Helsinki. The Business Controller will lead financial reporting, analysis and project cost monitoring to support the company’s ambitious growth plans.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver the company’s financial reporting, budgeting and cash‑flow forecasts.
• Track project costs, forecast results and produce financial reports for each development.
• Assist with real‑estate transactions, creating investment and cash‑flow models.
• Prepare investor‑facing materials and maintain regular reporting.
• Develop internal accounting tools and maintain the company’s growth model.
• Serve as the main liaison with the external accounting firm (bookkeeping, purchase & sales ledger, cash management, tax compliance).
• Support the CFO in communications with investors, banks and customers, and handle related administrative tasks.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of experience in finance or controlling roles.
• Experience in private‑equity or real‑estate sectors is a plus, but not mandatory.
• Proactive, entrepreneurial mindset and ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills in both Finnish and English.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks.
• High accuracy and attention to detail, even under pressure.
• Team‑player attitude, reliability and discretion with confidential information.
• Curiosity, continuous learning drive and flexibility to adapt to changing situations.
• Comfortable using AI‑based tools.
