Business Controller

About the role

Newil & Bau is a fast‑growing residential development company based in Helsinki. We are looking for a Business Controller to lead our financial reporting, analysis and project cost monitoring, supporting the company’s ambitious growth plans.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver the company’s financial reports, budgets, cash‑flow forecasts and variance analyses.
• Track project expenses, forecast results and produce financial updates for each development.
• Assist in real‑estate transactions, creating investment and cash‑flow models.
• Prepare investor‑facing materials and maintain regular reporting.
• Develop internal accounting tools and maintain the company’s growth model.
• Act as the main contact for the external accounting firm (bookkeeping, purchase/sales ledger, cash management, tax).
• Support the Finance & Funding Director in communications with investors, banks and customers, and handle related administrative tasks.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of experience in finance or controlling roles.
• Experience in private‑equity or real‑estate sectors is a plus.
• Proactive, entrepreneurial mindset and ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills in Finnish and English.
• Strong organisational skills, able to prioritise and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• High accuracy and attention to detail, even under pressure.
• Team‑player attitude, reliability and discretion with confidential information.
• Curiosity, willingness to learn continuously and adaptability to changing situations.
• Comfortable using AI‑based tools.
