Bridge Engineer

About the role

As a member of the Service Area, Bridge, marine and civil structures at AFRY, you will work on diverse and challenging projects that have a real impact. Through the Design Center you will collaborate with highly skilled professionals in Gothenburg and Malmö, use cutting‑edge technology, and help deliver innovative solutions for our clients.

Key responsibilities

• Perform FEM analysis and FE‑modelling.
• Carry out structural calculations for steel and concrete structures.
• Produce detailed models and design reports.
• Calculate load‑bearing capacities of existing bridges.

Required profile

• Qualified degree in Bridge Engineering.
• 5–10 years of experience in structural design of bridges, pile slabs, retaining walls or concrete tunnels.
• Experience with Eurocodes and cost estimating in feasibility to detailed design phases.
• Strong understanding of load behavior and English proficiency (minimum B1).

Required skills

• Proficiency in Tekla Structures.
• Knowledge of FEM tools, preferably Sofistik.
• Working ability with Rhinoceros and Grasshopper.
• Good command of MS Office applications.
