Branch Cashier – Full‑time

About the role

The Branch Cashier is responsible for executing all cash‑related transactions and operations at the branch in line with internal and external banking guidelines. The role ensures accurate cash handling, end‑of‑day reconciliation, and provides courteous service to customers.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process cheques, drafts, dividend warrants, pay orders and other instruments within authorized limits.
• Disburse cash for withdrawal requests and collect cash for deposit challans.
• Collect loan repayments according to EMI schedules and maintain corresponding system entries.
• Maintain inward/outward registers, petty‑cash register, assets register and submit requisition forms to the Regional Head Office.
• Perform daily cash tallying, prepare end‑of‑day reports and ensure vault operations are conducted jointly with the Operations Officer.
• Interact with customers during transactions, promote cross‑selling opportunities and educate them on alternate banking channels.
• Adhere to defined turnaround times, regulatory compliance and bank policies for all cashier operations.

Required profile

• Experience in cash handling and banking operations.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in transaction processing.
• Ability to follow established procedures and regulatory guidelines.
• Good communication skills for customer interaction and issue escalation.
