Branch Cashier (Full‑time)

About the role

The Branch Cashier is responsible for executing all cash‑related transactions and operations at the branch in line with internal and external banking guidelines. This full‑time position ensures accurate processing, reconciliation and safe handling of cash while delivering courteous service to customers.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process cheques, drafts, dividend warrants, pay orders and other instruments, issuing acknowledgements.
• Disburse cash for withdrawal requests and collect cash for deposit challans, adhering to authorized limits.
• Collect loan repayments according to EMI schedules and record entries in the banking system.
• Maintain inward/outward registers, petty‑cash and assets registers, and prepare requisition forms for the regional head office.
• Perform daily cash tally, prepare end‑of‑day reports and ensure vault operations are conducted jointly with the Operations Officer.
• Interact with customers during transactions, explain repayment dates, promote new products and guide them to alternate channels.
• Ensure compliance with all regulations, bank policies and defined turnaround times for cash‑handling processes.
• Validate customer identity for cash withdrawals and verify accuracy of deposit slips for audit purposes.

Required profile

• Experience in cash handling or banking operations.
• Ability to follow detailed procedures and maintain accurate records.
• Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
• Good communication skills for customer interaction.
• Reliability in safeguarding cash, keys and other valuables.
