Branch Cashier – Banking Operations

About the role

The Branch Cashier is responsible for executing all cash‑related transactions and operations at the bank branch in line with internal and external banking guidelines. This full‑time role ensures accurate processing of deposits, withdrawals, cheque handling and end‑of‑day reconciliations while delivering courteous service to customers.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process cheques, drafts, dividend warrants, pay orders and other instruments within authorized limits.
• Disburse cash for withdrawal requests and accept cash deposits, maintaining accurate system entries.
• Collect loan repayments according to EMI schedules and update customer accounts.
• Maintain inward/outward cash registers, petty‑cash and asset registers, and prepare requisition forms for the regional head office.
• Perform daily cash tallying, prepare end‑of‑day reports and ensure vault security jointly with the Assistant Branch Manager.
• Provide customers with information on products, repayment dates and alternative banking channels, and identify cross‑selling opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with all banking regulations, internal policies and defined turnaround times for transactions.
• Validate customer identity during cash withdrawals and verify deposit slips for audit purposes.

Required profile
