Branch Cashier – Banking Operations

About the role

The Branch Cashier is responsible for executing all cash‑related transactions and operations at the branch in line with internal and external banking guidelines. This full‑time position ensures accurate cash handling, end‑of‑day reconciliation, and excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process cheques, drafts, dividend warrants, pay orders and other instruments within authorized limits.
• Disburse cash for withdrawal requests and collect cash for deposit challans.
• Maintain inward/outward registers, petty‑cash registers and asset registers; submit requisitions to the Regional Head Office.
• Perform daily cash tallying, prepare the End‑of‑Day branch report and ensure vault security jointly with the Operations Officer.
• Assist customers with deposits, withdrawals and loan repayment schedules, promoting cross‑sell opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with all banking regulations, internal policies and defined turnaround times for transactions.
