Branch Cashier – Banking Operations

About the role

The Branch Cashier is responsible for executing all cash‑related transactions and operations at the branch in line with internal and external banking guidelines. This full‑time position ensures accurate cash handling, customer service, and compliance with regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process cheques, drafts, dividend warrants, pay orders and other instruments within authorized limits.
• Disburse cash for withdrawal requests and collect cash for deposit challans.
• Collect loan repayments as per EMI schedules and maintain corresponding system entries.
• Maintain inward/outward registers, petty‑cash register, and assets register; submit requisitions to the Regional Head Office.
• Perform daily cash tally, end‑of‑day reconciliation, and prepare the Branch End‑of‑Day report.
• Jointly manage the branch vault and cash custody with the Assistant Branch Manager.
• Provide courteous customer service, address queries, and promote bank products.
• Ensure adherence to transaction turnaround times, regulatory compliance, and bank policies.

Required profile

• Experience handling cash and banking instruments in a branch environment.
• Ability to process transactions accurately and maintain detailed registers.
• Strong understanding of banking guidelines and compliance requirements.
• Excellent customer interaction skills and ability to identify cross‑selling opportunities.
• Capability to perform end‑of‑day cash reconciliation and vault operations.
