Brakes Design Engineer – Foundation Brakes

About the role

SEGULA Technologies is seeking a Brakes Design Engineer to develop foundation brake components for automotive applications. You will work on a range of parts, from discs and drums to calipers and pedals, using advanced CAD tools and industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop brake system components, including discs, drums, calipers, backing plates, pedals, brackets and related assemblies.
• Create and modify 3D models, 2D drawings and assembly layouts using CATIA V5.
• Prepare manufacturing drawings with GD&T in line with industry standards.
• Perform tolerance stack‑up analysis and support design validation activities.
• Collaborate with CAE, Manufacturing, Testing, Purchasing and Supplier Quality teams throughout product development.
• Participate in design reviews, DFMEA, and Engineering Change Management (ECN/ECR).
• Ensure designs meet customer specifications, automotive standards and regulatory requirements.
• Support prototype development, testing and production issue resolution.
• Maintain engineering documentation, BOMs and design records.

Required profile

• Proven experience designing brake system components.
• Familiarity with automotive standards and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams.
• Experience supporting prototype testing and production issue resolution.
