Bank Cashier (Multiple Locations)

About the role

The Bank Cashier is responsible for executing all cash‑related transactions and operations at branch locations, ensuring compliance with internal and external banking guidelines. This full‑time position supports the smooth functioning of the branch cash department and delivers courteous service to customers.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process cheques, drafts, dividend warrants, pay orders and other instruments within authorized limits.
• Disburse cash for withdrawal requests and collect cash for deposit challans.
• Collect loan repayments as per EMI schedules and maintain accurate system entries.
• Maintain inward/outward registers, petty‑cash register, and assets register; submit requisition forms to the Regional Head Office.
• Perform daily cash tallying, prepare end‑of‑day reports, and manage the branch vault jointly with the Operations Officer.
• Interact with customers during deposits and withdrawals, identify cross‑selling opportunities, and educate them on new products and alternate channels.
• Ensure compliance with turnaround times, banking regulations, and internal policies for all cashier operations.
• Validate customer authenticity, verify cash deposit slips, update passbooks, and process cash bundles for currency chest deposits.
