Bank Cashier – Branch Operations

About the role

The Cashier is responsible for executing all cash‑related transactions and operations at a branch, ensuring compliance with internal and external banking guidelines. The role supports smooth branch functioning through accurate cash handling, reconciliation, and customer interaction.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process cheques, drafts, dividend warrants, pay orders and other instruments within authorized limits.
• Disburse cash for withdrawal requests and collect cash for deposit challans.
• Collect loan repayments as per EMI schedules and maintain corresponding system entries.
• Maintain inward/outward registers, petty‑cash and asset registers, and submit requisitions to the Regional Head Office.
• Perform daily cash tally, end‑of‑day reconciliation and prepare the Branch End‑of‑Day report.
• Jointly manage the branch vault and cash custody with the Operations Officer.
• Provide courteous customer service, address queries, and promote bank products.
• Ensure adherence to turnaround times, regulatory compliance, and internal policies for all cashier operations.

Required profile

• Experience in cash handling and banking operations.
• Strong attention to detail for accurate transaction recording.
• Ability to follow banking regulations and internal policies.
• Good communication skills for interacting with customers and cross‑selling.
