Backend Developer (Python / FastAPI)

About the role

EduSkills Foundation® is seeking a Backend Developer to build and maintain the server‑side components of its digital learning platforms. The position is full‑time, on‑site in Bhubaneswar and focuses on delivering robust, secure APIs using Python and FastAPI.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable backend applications with Python and FastAPI.
• Build, optimise and secure RESTful APIs that serve front‑end React/Next.js applications.
• Design, implement and manage relational databases (PostgreSQL or MySQL) and write efficient queries.
• Deploy, monitor and maintain services on AWS Cloud, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Collaborate with front‑end developers, product owners and QA teams to define requirements and troubleshoot issues.
• Write clean, reusable code, create unit tests, participate in code reviews and maintain technical documentation.

Required profile

• Strong background in back‑end web development with Python, FastAPI and RESTful services.
• Solid software engineering fundamentals, including OOP, design patterns and version control (Git).
• Basic understanding of front‑end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) to facilitate collaboration.
• Degree in Computer Science, IT or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Analytical mindset, problem‑solving ability and effective communication skills.
