Automation Engineer – SCADA/DMS Projects

About the role

ETAP is looking for an Automation Engineer to design, develop, commission and support SCADA/DMS solutions for electrical networks. The role combines system engineering, on‑site installation, testing and troubleshooting to deliver reliable automation platforms for power equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Design and engineer SCADA/DMS architectures, including RTU/PLC communication and control‑room setups.
• Perform on‑site installation, configuration and commissioning of hardware such as routers, RTUs, FRTUs, modems and firewalls.
• Test and troubleshoot SCADA systems, resolve faults during and after installation.
• Develop engineering deliverables: control philosophy, functional design specifications, FAT/SAT procedures, user manuals and HMI graphics.
• Configure industrial networks, VLANs and managed switches; apply CCNA‑level networking knowledge.
• Create and maintain SCADA/DMS databases, configure equipment, and write SQL stored procedures.
• Implement plant historians, reporting tools and scripting solutions (Python, C#, C++, VB).

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience with SCADA‑ADMS, industrial or solar automation projects.
• Proficiency in PLC/RTU/FRTU connectivity and industrial network design.
• Ability to work independently, follow site‑lead instructions and deliver high‑quality results.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with customers, field personnel and internal teams.
