Australian Tax Preparer

About the role

We are seeking a diligent Australian Tax Preparer to join our team and ensure accurate preparation and review of a wide range of tax returns. The role involves applying Australian tax legislation, handling complex adjustments, and maintaining compliance with ATO regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review Australian individual, company, trust and partnership tax returns.
• Handle Division 7A, UPE and Distributable Surplus calculations.
• Work on Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT), Capital Gains Tax (CGT) concessions and Personal Services Income (PSI).
• Apply Small Business Entity (SBE) and Base Rate Entity tax treatment.
• Perform GST reconciliations and review Franking Account adjustments.
• Manage temporary and permanent differences and prepaid expenses.
• Review partnership and trust losses for compliance.
• Assess contractor and subcontractor payments and their tax treatment.
• Ensure all activities comply with ATO regulations and reporting standards.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience preparing Australian individual, company, trust and partnership tax returns.
• Strong understanding of ATO regulations, GST, FBT, CGT and related compliance requirements.
