Audit Associate

About the role

As an Audit Associate at NCheng LLP, you will support the integrity of financial systems for a diverse portfolio of nonprofit, healthcare, housing, and professional partnership clients. You will conduct audits, analyze financial data, and assess internal controls to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in planning financial audits, defining objectives, scope, and timelines.
• Evaluate client financial and operational risks to determine audit approach.
• Execute audits in accordance with applicable standards and regulations.
• Review financial statements, transactions, and internal controls for accuracy and compliance.
• Analyze data, identify discrepancies, and perform substantive testing.
• Utilize audit software and tools to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Assess internal control systems and recommend enhancements.
• Maintain detailed, organized audit work papers for each engagement.
• Prepare clear audit reports summarizing findings and recommendations.
• Communicate effectively with clients to understand business processes.
• Support engagement management across a client portfolio and contribute to business development.
• Mentor staff, assist with recruitment, and support firm growth initiatives.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 + years of experience in audit or related financial services.
• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively with clients and internal teams.

• Proficiency with audit software and related tools.
