Associate Tax Advisor

About the role

The Associate Tax Advisor is an entry‑level position focused on preparing individual, business, trust, and nonprofit tax returns. Working under senior tax professionals, you will develop tax knowledge, accuracy, and professional habits while supporting the team during peak season.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare 100‑200 basic to moderately complex tax returns annually, including Form 1040 with schedules, partnership and S‑Corp returns, trusts, and nonprofits.
• Enter client data accurately into Lacerte tax software and organize supporting documentation.
• Research basic tax issues (e.g., material participation, depreciation rules) using IRS publications and internal guidelines.
• Assist with quarterly tax estimates and basic tax planning services.
• Participate in training sessions, workshops, and onboarding activities.
• Support senior team members with administrative tasks and document requests.
• Draft client communications and status updates under supervision.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of client information.

Required profile

• Recent graduate or candidate with a strong interest in tax and accounting.
• High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work collaboratively.
• Professional communication skills and willingness to receive feedback.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Lacerte tax software.
• Strong data‑entry abilities.
• Familiarity with basic tax forms and schedules (Form 1040, Schedule A‑D, partnership and S‑Corp filings).
• Competence in using Microsoft Office applications for documentation and communication.
