Associate – Equity Research Analyst

About the role

The Associate will join Avendus Spark’s Equity Research team within Institutional Equities, supporting investment decisions for a broad base of institutional investors. This role blends analytical research, financial modelling and sector‑specific analysis to generate actionable insights.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct detailed reviews of competitive landscapes and peer firms across assigned sectors.
• Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis, building financial models using historical and market data.
• Prepare comparative studies that strengthen investor confidence and support investment recommendations.
• Contribute to sector‑specific research reports and enhance the team’s overall coverage.

Required profile

• Ability to synthesize insights from accounting and regulatory disclosures.
• Open to candidates from non‑research backgrounds with strong industry experience.
• Preferably holds a CA or CFA qualification.
• Strong conceptual understanding of finance, valuations and statistical analysis.
• Detail‑oriented multi‑tasker with solid business acumen.

• Proficiency in MS PowerPoint.
• Advanced MS Excel skills.
• Competence in MS Word.
• Financial modelling capabilities.
