Associate Engineer – Elevator Design

About the role

KONE is seeking an Associate Engineer to contribute to elevator design and engineering projects at its Chennai ITEC/KBS site. The position combines technical design work, circuit diagram creation, and bill‑of‑materials preparation while supporting a collaborative engineering team and maintaining a strong customer‑service mindset.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of KONE equipment, technical design, structure and product limitations.
• Analyse contracts and specifications to select the most suitable equipment solutions.
• Design circuit diagrams for elevators with non‑standard requirements.
• Generate accurate bill of materials for production based on design diagrams.
• Incorporate safety, maintenance, manufacturability and sustainability considerations into all designs.
• Provide regular order progress updates to stakeholders.
• Work independently on assigned tasks and deliver results on time.
• Apply a customer‑service mindset and share knowledge with colleagues during meetings and workshops.

Required profile

• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Flexibility to work across different teams and adapt to changing priorities.
• Elevator industry background is an advantage.
• Good verbal and email communication.
