Associate Director – Overhead Line Equipment (OLE)

About the role

WSP is looking for an Associate Director to lead the Overhead Line Equipment (OLE) team within its Rail & Transit business. You will oversee delivery of OLE design packages for Swedish rail projects, guide technical development, and coordinate multidisciplinary teams across Sweden, India and other global locations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead delivery of OLE design packages from feasibility through IFC stages.
• Prepare and review OLE layout plans, cross‑sections, wire run schedules, mast schedules and related technical documents.
• Ensure designs comply with Swedish Rail (Trafikverket) requirements and EN/IEC standards.
• Apply system‑engineering principles and integrate OLE designs with track, signalling, telecom, civil and structural disciplines.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams in Sweden, India, Nordics, UK and other regions.
• Lead technical reviews, client submissions and resolution of design comments.
• Mentor engineers, drive continuous improvement of design standards and promote professional registrations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s or professional certification is a plus).
• 15+ years of experience in railway OLE/electrification design, including team leadership.
• Proven experience delivering mainline rail electrification projects, preferably in Europe/Nordic markets.
• Strong technical credibility and ability to manage multidisciplinary interfaces.
