Associate Director – NFR Control Testing, Markets

About the role

The Associate Director, Control Testing – Markets strengthens ANZ's Non‑Financial Risk framework by centrally monitoring and testing controls across Global Markets. You will partner with control owners to execute the Control Self‑Assessment framework, applying data‑driven methods to assess design, effectiveness, and to drive remediation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and execute risk‑based control monitoring and testing across Global Markets products, processes and value chains.
• Identify opportunities to improve monitoring coverage through centralisation, standardisation, automation and enhanced reporting.
• Assess control design and operating effectiveness using data‑driven testing methodologies.
• Detect control weaknesses, emerging risks and thematic issues, providing actionable recommendations.
• Analyse testing results and translate findings into clear insights for business stakeholders.
• Ensure all testing activities comply with enterprise risk frameworks, governance standards and regulatory requirements.

• Strong leadership and stakeholder‑engagement capabilities.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex data and drive risk‑aware decisions.
• Experience influencing risk outcomes across a large, multi‑product organisation.
• Ability to champion continuous improvement in control design, automation and testing methodologies.
