Associate Director – HVAC (MEP)

About the role

AECOM is seeking an experienced Associate Director to lead HVAC (MEP) design for medium to large retail and hospitality projects across India and internationally. The role involves delivering energy‑efficient solutions, guiding project teams, and ensuring compliance with global standards.

Key responsibilities

• Calculate heating and cooling loads for HVAC system design.
• Serve as lead engineer on mid‑ to large‑size projects and approve technical deliverables.
• Provide specialized technical input and present complex solutions to clients.
• Perform quality‑control reviews and develop technical proposals.
• Estimate engineering budgets and schedules for large projects.
• Oversee and coordinate HVAC system design, ensuring energy efficiency and code compliance.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
• Conduct site visits to assess existing systems and recommend improvements.

Required profile

• Master of Engineering (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.
• 15+ years of HVAC design experience, preferably on retail/hospitality projects.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license in HVAC.
• Extensive knowledge of HVAC systems, design principles, and energy‑efficient solutions.
• Strong understanding of building codes and ASHRAE standards.
• Proven project management and leadership abilities.
