Associate – Direct Tax (Ahmedabad/Mumbai)

About the role

The firm is seeking a motivated Associate to support its Direct Tax practice across its Ahmedabad and Mumbai offices. You will work closely with senior counsels and tax managers to ensure compliance, assist in litigation, and provide advisory services on complex tax matters.

Key responsibilities

• Administer corporate and individual tax compliance, including preparation and filing of returns and transfer pricing documentation.
• Assist in the preparation of submissions for assessment, reassessment, and search & seizure proceedings.
• Prepare appeals and submissions before CIT(A), ITAT, and other jurisdictional authorities under the Faceless mechanism.
• Support senior counsel in litigation matters before tribunals, High Courts, and the Supreme Court.
• Handle E‑TDS filings and all withholding tax compliance requirements.
• Analyse withholding tax implications for domestic and cross‑border transactions.
• Provide advice on international tax issues, DTAA interpretation, and tax structuring for inbound and outbound transactions.

Required profile

• Chartered Accountant qualification.
• 1‑3 years of post‑qualification experience, preferably in a mid‑size or large tax firm.
• Articleship completed at a reputable firm.
