Associate – Criminal Litigation (Dispute Resolution)

About the role

Lawmen & White, a full‑service law firm with a pan‑India presence, is seeking two full‑time Associates to join its Defence Colony office in New Delhi. The role focuses on criminal dispute resolution, handling matters from bail applications to appeals before trial courts and higher forums.

Key responsibilities

• Independently manage criminal and related litigation matters before trial courts.
• Prepare trial materials, review evidence, and examine witnesses.
• Draft pleadings, bail applications, quashing petitions, criminal writs, SLPs, and other legal submissions.
• Appear before trial courts, High Courts, the Supreme Court, and other forums as required.
• Brief senior counsels, coordinate filing, case strategy, and procedural compliance.
• Maintain client communication and oversee assigned matters.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years post‑qualification experience (PQE) in criminal litigation.
• Hands‑on experience with trial‑court practice, bail applications, revisions, appeals, and other criminal proceedings.
• Ability to independently manage matters and present arguments before courts.
• Strong judgment, confidence in expressing independent legal views, and willingness to work across commercial litigation and arbitration.

Required skills

• Practical knowledge of criminal law, procedure, and court processes.
• Experience drafting pleadings, applications, written submissions, and case notes.
• Proficiency in filing procedures and procedural compliance.
