Assistant Store Manager

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager in daily operations of our busy fuel‑and‑convenience locations across New England. You will help create a welcoming environment, ensure smooth transactions, and mentor team members to deliver fast, friendly service.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager with overall store performance, inventory control, and customer service.
• Stock and restock merchandise, verify vendor deliveries, and maintain accurate inventory records.
• Complete required paperwork such as shift reports, gas reconciliation, and cigarette counts.
• Train new associates and coach existing staff on store procedures and customer interaction.
• Operate electronic point‑of‑sale equipment, handle cash transactions, and ensure accurate sales reporting.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and attractive store environment, including routine physical upkeep.

Required profile

• Minimum of one year retail experience, preferably in a convenience‑store or fuel‑service setting.
• Positive, courteous attitude with strong communication skills.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to work any shift, including weekends, and to stand, kneel, lift (up to 30 lb) and bend as needed.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Required skills

• General computer literacy for operating electronic equipment and sales transactions.
