Assistant Restaurant Manager

About the role

The Assistant Restaurant Manager supports daily restaurant operations, menu planning, and sanitation standards while ensuring high guest and employee satisfaction. The role involves supervising staff during peak periods and stepping in for the Director of Restaurants or Restaurant Manager when needed.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in managing the restaurant team, handling employee questions, and monitoring performance.
• Supervise daily shift operations, ensure supplies, equipment, and uniforms are available.
• Communicate food quality and service issues to the Chef and Restaurant Manager.
• Monitor compliance with restaurant policies, standards, and local alcohol service laws.
• Help achieve or exceed budgeted financial goals.
• Perform opening and closing duties and step in to cover any restaurant employee tasks as required.
• Interact with guests to gather feedback, resolve complaints, and promote excellent service.
• Conduct training, coach staff, and manage performance expectations.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED with at least 4 years of food‑and‑beverage experience, OR a 2‑year degree in Food Service Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related field with 2 years of experience.
• Strong ability to supervise staff, handle guest issues, and maintain operational standards.
• Good communication skills and a focus on continuous improvement.
