About the role

The Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur invites qualified Indian nationals to apply for Assistant Professor positions (Grade I and Grade II) across a wide range of engineering, science, humanities and management disciplines. Selected candidates will join a premier research university and contribute to teaching, research and community outreach.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality undergraduate and postgraduate lectures and tutorials.
• Guide and supervise student projects, theses and dissertations.
• Develop and lead research programmes, publish in reputable journals and attract research funding.
• Participate in departmental and institute committees, curriculum design and academic administration.
• Engage with industry and professional bodies for collaborative initiatives.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in the relevant discipline with a first‑class or equivalent standing.
• For Grade I: minimum three years of post‑Ph.D. teaching, research or industry experience.
• For Grade II: fresh Ph.D. candidates are eligible; those with less than three years post‑Ph.D. experience may be appointed on a contractual basis (up to three years) with the possibility of conversion to a regular position.
• Demonstrated record of scholarly work and a strong academic background.
