About the role

Himachal Pradesh University (HPU) is inviting applications for 26 Category‑A Assistant Professor positions across its Post Graduate Centre, Regional Centre Dharamshala and University Institute of Technology. The posts cover a range of disciplines including Psychology, History, Law, Commerce, Physics, Chemistry, Geography, Sanskrit, Computer Science/IT and Life Long Learning.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver undergraduate and postgraduate lectures in the assigned subject area.
• Design and update curricula, course materials and assessment methods.
• Guide and mentor students on research projects, dissertations and internships.
• Conduct original research, publish findings in reputable journals, and secure research funding.
• Participate in departmental meetings, academic committees and university‑wide activities.

Required profile

• Minimum qualification as per UGC Regulations 2018 (NET/CSIR/SLET/SET qualified or PhD holder).
• For UIT posts, compliance with AICTE Norms 2019.
• Eligibility for reservation categories as specified in the notification.
• Good academic record and commitment to teaching excellence.
