Assistant Professor of English (Full‑time, Bengaluru South)

About the role

The Assistant Professor of English will join the Bengaluru South campus on a full‑time, on‑site basis. The role involves planning and delivering undergraduate English language and literature courses while supporting the institution’s integrated civil‑services coaching programme.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed lesson plans and deliver lectures, seminars, and discussion sessions.
• Assess student performance through assignments, examinations, and continuous evaluation.
• Provide academic mentoring and guidance to undergraduate students.
• Contribute to curriculum improvement and design new syllabi and assessment methods.
• Participate in departmental meetings and support co‑curricular activities.
• Set question papers, evaluate answer scripts, and assist in academic advising.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance student outcomes.
• Engage in institutional development initiatives aligned with civil‑services preparation.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience teaching English at the undergraduate level.
• Expertise in English literature with ability to teach core and elective courses.
• Master’s degree in English or a related field (Ph.D. preferred).
• Excellent spoken and written communication skills and a student‑centered teaching approach.
• Ability to integrate contemporary teaching methods and use educational technology.
• Familiarity with civil‑services exam patterns is an added advantage.
