Assistant Professor – Computer Science

About the role

Newton School of Technology is seeking Assistant Professors in Computer Science to teach undergraduate students. The role combines academic rigor with hands‑on, industry‑relevant projects, aiming to develop future technology leaders.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lectures, labs, tutorials, assignments and project‑based learning for undergraduate Computer Science courses.
• Explain complex concepts in an engaging, application‑oriented manner.
• Mentor students through technical projects, internships, research, hackathons and career preparation.
• Integrate real‑world industry examples, case studies, tools and technologies into coursework.
• Design, update and improve course content, assignments and learning experiences.
• Guide students in building real‑world technology projects and technical portfolios.
• Organise coding sessions, workshops, hackathons, seminars and other academic activities.
• Collaborate with industry professionals and academic teams to keep curriculum relevant.
• Assess student performance, provide feedback and support academic innovation.
• Participate in research, publications and conferences where applicable.

Required profile

• Passionate about teaching and mentoring undergraduate Computer Science students.
• Strong knowledge of core Computer Science topics and specialised areas such as AI/ML, Software Engineering, Data Structures & Algorithms, and Mathematics.
• Ability to create an engaging, application‑focused learning environment.
• Willingness to contribute to curriculum development, academic innovation and research activities.
