Assistant Operations Manager

About the role

JMT Consultants Detailing Private Limited is seeking an experienced Assistant Operations Manager to support its Steel Detailing Operations team in Bangalore. The role involves assisting the Operations Manager in day‑to‑day activities, ensuring smooth project execution, and maintaining high quality standards across all deliverables.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Operations Manager in planning, implementing, and monitoring operational procedures and policies.
• Supervise daily activities of project teams, allocate resources, and track manpower utilization.
• Conduct periodic quality checks of drawings and models to ensure compliance with client standards.
• Prepare KPI reports covering productivity, quality, delivery performance, and resource utilization.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Checkers, Modelers, and Editors to establish priorities and delivery schedules.
• Identify skill gaps and organize technical training, mentoring, and development programs for production staff.

Required profile

• B.Tech/B.E. in Civil or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent diploma/postgraduate qualification).
• 15+ years of experience in the steel detailing industry and 10+ years in project management.
• Advanced knowledge of Tekla Structures and strong familiarity with AISC and CISC standards.
• Proven experience handling commercial U.S. projects and structural steel construction.
