Assistant Merchandiser (Apparel)

About the role

We are seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented Assistant Merchandiser to support our senior merchandiser and ensure smooth execution of buyer orders from raw material procurement to dispatch. This role is based in Kanpur and offers the opportunity to work in a fast‑growing equestrian apparel export company.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in handling buyer orders, coordinating procurement of fabrics, trims, accessories and other materials.
• Prepare and maintain order sheets, time‑and‑action (T&A) sheets and production follow‑ups.
• Coordinate with sampling, production, quality control and packing teams to meet timelines.
• Follow up on production schedules and ensure timely order completion.
• Communicate order requirements with buyers and suppliers.
• Maintain accurate records of order status, approvals and deliveries.

Required profile

• 0–2 years of experience in merchandising or the apparel industry; fresh graduates with relevant knowledge are welcome.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Proactive follow‑up and coordination abilities.

Required skills

• Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Familiarity with garment manufacturing and export merchandising (advantageous).
