Assistant Manager – Training (Chennai)

About the role

The Assistant Manager – Training will support the learning and development function by designing, delivering and evaluating training programs for sales and insurance teams. This onsite role is based in Chennai and works six days a week on a day shift.

Key responsibilities

• Identify training needs across all employee levels and conduct refresher sessions to boost productivity.
• Coordinate training schedules, set‑up venues, create training materials and manage follow‑up activities.
• Deliver onboarding training covering sales techniques, product knowledge, customer communication and internal systems.
• Provide comprehensive product knowledge on health insurance to new joiners.
• Conduct skill‑building sessions on selling, soft skills, objection handling for Associate Sales Consultants, Team Leaders and Assistant Sales Managers.
• Assist in ongoing training program delivery and evaluate trainee performance.
• Prepare score sheets, maintain detailed workshop records and gather participant feedback.
• Offer timely constructive feedback, counselling and arrange follow‑up training as needed.

Required profile

• Background in training or learning & development.
• Proven ability to develop employees to meet performance targets through hiring, coaching and mentoring.
• Strong performance monitoring and coaching capabilities.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to resolve performance‑related issues.
• Comfortable handling employee escalations and escalating matters to supervisors.
• Fluent in English.
• Willingness to work onsite six days a week.
